FROSTBURG — Police officers’ check on residents’ well-beings resulted in three arrests for possession of illegal drugs.
Frostburg Police Department officers received a call at about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday from someone who expressed concern that a group of individuals might have overdosed on heroin inside an apartment on East Main Street.
Upon arrival, police located a large quantity of hypodermic needles, several items containing suspected heroin residue, suspected Oxycodone, a digital scale and various other drug-related paraphernalia, according to a police report.
Arrested at the scene were Jennafer L. Caldwell, 27, of Frostburg; Jeffrey M. Higson, 25, of Cumberland; and Matthew P. Scarpelli, 24, also of Frostburg.
All three suspects were taken to the District Court commissioner and held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
The local police agency was assisted with the incident by the Allegany County Bureau of Police, Maryland State Police and the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
