OAKLAND — A Fairmont, W.Va., man was arrested Friday by Maryland State Police when he was served with three arrest warrants.
Additional warrants against him are reportedly on file in West Virginia.
Gary Lee Ravenscroft Jr., 40, was taken into custody at about 8:15 a.m. at an undisclosed location by the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack Criminal Investigation Division.
The warrants stemmed from three investigations for bad checks under $500, theft from $1,000 to under $10,000 and theft less than $1,000 involving two victims and a business in Garrett County.
Ravenscroft was charged with two counts of theft from $1,000 to under $10,000, and six counts of bad checks. He was held Friday at the Garrett County Detention Center on $6,000 bond, pending extradition proceedings by West Virginia.
