3/-22 Driver arrested following crash

— KEYSER, W.Va. — A Garrett County man was arrested after being hospitalized from a motor vehicle accident Friday night.

Luis Perez Monrroy was traveling north on Garrett Highway when he failed to stop at the intersection with National Pike, U.S. Route 40, according to police. Monrroy’s truck went through the intersection, crashed into a guardrail and overturned.

Monrroy was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., by Trooper 5, the Maryland State Police medevac helicopter.

He was placed under arrest Saturday, charged with driving without a license, negligent driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree burglary through Washington County and is being detained on immigration charges through the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Monrroy was being held Sunday in the Garrett County Jail.
