FRIENDSVILLE — Six people were left homeless when fire swept through their Maple Street residence late Tuesday morning. There were no injuries, according to the Garrett County 911 center.
The 9:45 a.m. fire brought volunteer firefighters from Friendsville, Accident, Deep Creek, Grantsville and Addison (Pa.) in addition to Northern Garrett Rescue Squad.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause and origin of the fire.
Immediate emergency assistance was provided to the victims by the American Red Cross, according to the emergency center.
