LONACONING — No injuries were reported when a flue fire in a Cool Mist Lane residence extended into an interior ceiling, according to the Allegany County 911 center.
The incident in the 15500 block of Cool Mist Lane occurred shortly before 5 a.m. and forced the evacuation of three adult occupants from the residence.
Damages from the fire were apparently minor and the occupants were able to remain in their home following the incident, according to Good Will Deputy Chief Gary Holshey.
More than 50 volunteer firefighters from Goodwill, Midland, Shaft, Barton and Potomac volunteer fire companies responded along with the George’s Creek Rescue Squad.
Units were on the call for an hour and a half and State Highway Administration personnel responded to treat icy conditions.
