NEWBURG, W.Va. — A home confinement check Monday by the Preston County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a Newburg woman and seizure of a large amount of bath salts.
Officers checking on the court-ordered home confinement of 43-year-old Jessica Bolyard reportedly discovered a large amount of filled capsules containing bath salts as well as containers of bath salts and empty capsules and equipment to fill the capsules with bath salts.
Cash and drug paraphernalia were also found in the residence. A large amount of bath salts were found in a snorting tray in a vehicle at the location of the arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police said two males were present when Bolyard was arrested as well as Bolyard’s 4-year-old daughter.
The sheriff’s office said the child was placed with relatives or with Child Protective Services.
Bolyard remained jailed Tuesday at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $500,000 bond stemming from numerous charges.
A sheriff’s office spokesman said additional charges are pending in the continuing investigation.
