CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland woman was charged with second-degree assault Saturday following an alleged domestic assault.
Jerica Brooke Barnes, 21, was arrested but released from custody after initially being held at the Allegany County Detention Center, according to online records.
Cumberland Police were called to the 200 block of Maple Street, where an argument over money escalated to a physical confrontation, police said.
The parties were separated when police arrived shortly after 11 a.m. The victim was observed to have a bloody nose, swollen eye and scratches on the face, police said.
