CUMBERLAND — A 40-year-old man was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after he was struck by a vehicle Thursday at the intersection of Baltimore Street and Queen City Drive, according to the Allegany County 911 center.
Neil A. Griffith, of un-known address, suffered injuries that apparently were not life threatening following the 10:20 a.m. incident, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
Police said Griffith was struck by a vehicle after he walked into the roadway and “tried to cross all four lanes against a green light.”
One vehicle swerved to avoid striking Griffith, who was then struck by a 1998 Lincoln being driven by Melody Chambers, 40, of Mount Savage.
No charges were filed and Griffith was said to be at fault in the accident.
Cumberland Fire Department ambulance took Griffith to the hospital.
