CUMBERLAND — A 57-year-old city man was arrested Wednesday night when Cumberland Police investigated an alleged domestic assault in the 300 block of Davidson Street.
Robert W. Burkett, 57, was charged with second-degree assault and released later on his personal recognizance by a district court commissioner, pending trial in district court.
The female victim told police she was punched in the mouth and eye several times.
Officers observed the injuries and made the arrest at the scene without incident.
The victim reportedly did not seek medical treatment.
