Cumberland — CUMBERLAND — A 28-year-old Cumberland man was arrested Monday on charges stemming from alleged sexual contact he had with his 3-year-old daughter, according to the C3I Unit.
The defendant, whose name was withheld by police in an effort to protect the identity of the victim, was charged with third-degree sex offense, sexual abuse of a minor and child abuse by a parent.
Following a bond hearing, the accused was jailed at the Allegany County Detention Center on $35,000 bond.
The charges stemmed from a joint investigation by Cumberland Police, Child Protective Services and C3I Unit into allegations that the suspect had been engaging in sexual contact with his daughter.
The offenses allegedly be-gan in May 2009 when the victim was 3 years old.
