— CUMBERLAND — Police arrested an Allegany College of Maryland student Saturday night for stealing a laptop computer from a campus security office.
Brendyn Jamaal Andrew, 18, Cumberland, entered the security office shortly before 8 p.m. and took a Dell laptop computer, according to police. A security officer reported that three men were seen inside the building just before the theft, and security camera recordings identified Andrew and other suspects. Police contacted Andrew at his campus residence, where he reportedly admitted to the theft and turned over the laptop.
Andrew was arrested and charged with theft over $500 and breaking and entering fourth-degree theft. He was released pending trial in District Court.
