3/9/10 - City man injured in motorcycle crash

Cumberland — CUMBERLAND — A city man was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after his motorcycle was struck by a passenger vehicle Sunday on Naves Crossroad near Eastman Road, according to the Allegany County Bureau of Police.

Matthew Zembower, 46, was taken to the hospital by Bowman’s Addition Ambulance following the 1:50 p.m. accident. He was treated for injuries that reportedly were not life-threatening. No information was available concerning his medical condition.

Police said Zembower’s 2000 Harley-Davidson was struck by a Chevrolet passenger vehicle driven by Jared Mathews, 18, of Cumberland. Mathews was not injured. He was cited by police for failure to yield right of way to oncoming traffic.

Bedford Road Volunteer Fire Company also responded.
