CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an assault last weekend in the 100 block of Columbia Street, Cumberland Police said.
William Webster Cook Sr., 44, was charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment before he was released on his personal recognizance by a district court commissioner.
Police said that Cook allegedly struck another man several times in the face, causing him to briefly lose consciousness. The victim was treated at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after being taken there by private vehicle following the Jan. 19 incident.
