CUMBERLAND — Cause of a fire that occurred early Sunday afternoon in a vacant dwelling at 1012 Ella Ave. remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Less than $100 in damages occurred in the fire that was discovered at 12:29 p.m. by a neighbor. Combustibles stor-ed in the basement were damaged.
No damage was reported to the adjoining property at 1014 of the two-story duplex.
The fire originated in the basement of the vacant residence that is owned by Michael Marriott.
Cumberland Fire Department handled the incident and assisted in the investigation.
