KEYSER, W.Va. — A Swanton woman was arrested at a Keyser pharmacy Tuesday after she allegedly attempted to obtain medication with a forged prescription, Keyser Police said.
Heather A. Winegardner, 38, was charged with one count of obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation and was released later that evening on $2,800 bond set by Magistrate David Harman.
Keyser police said the arrest was made at about 3:30 p.m., when Winegardner arrived to pick up the medication a couple of hours after she had allegedly presented a forged prescription for the drugs.
A court spokesman said obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation is a felony offense that, upon conviction, carries a maximum penalty of one to four years in jail and a fine of up to $30,000.
