SOMERSET, Pa. — An 83-year-old Somerset County woman was fatally injured Wednesday when her automobile was struck by a coal truck on Route 30 in Quemahoning Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Dorothy Howard of Boswell died at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital’s emergency room after being taken there following the 9:45 a.m. accident.
Trooper Norman A. Klahre reported Howard was operating a Kia Rio on Route 30 when she turned into the path of a International coal truck operated by Terry Shaffer, 62, of Hooversville. Howard was attempting to travel north on Route 219 when the accident occurred.
