CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested Friday after he threatened another resident with a knife during an argument, according to Cumberland Police.
Officers responded to Baltimore Street for an assault. The victim said he was nearly struck by a bicycle while walking on Greene Street near the Kensington.
He said an argument ensued and the bicyclist shoved him in the chest before pulling a black folding knife from his pocket and threatening to cut him.
Police found a man matching the description of the suspect pushing a bicycle on Baltimore Street near George Street. During a “pat down” of John Tyler Brennan, 20, of Cumberland, officers reportedly found a knife matching the description given by the victim.
Brennan admitted to the officers that he was involved in an argument, but denied brandishing a knife. Brennan was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and possessing a deadly weapon.
