CUMBERLAND — Four people were injured Monday evening and taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash on state Route 135 near the NewPage finished products warehouse, according to the Allegany County 911 center.
Jessie A. Green, 23, of Lonaconing suffered severe injuries in the 6:20 p.m. crash, according to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. No information was available on his medical condition.
Police said Anthony Ashby, 18, of Oakland and Jerry E. Loar, 50, and Ronnie L. Loar, 54, both of Barton, suffered apparently minor injuries in the accident.
Ashby was driving a Subaru Legacy also occupied by Green and struck a patch of ice. The vehicle traveled into the path of a Chevrolet Colorado truck operated by Jerry Loar and also occupied by Ronnie Loar, police said.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the accident that police said was weather-related.
The investigation is continuing.
McCoole, Tri-Towns, Keyser and New Creek ambulances took the patients to the hospital, according to the emergency center.
