HANCOCK — David R. Kassing, 52, Carmel, Ind., was killed early Saturday when his 2011 Porsche, driven at an apparent high rate of speed westbound on Interstate 70, crossed the median and collided head-on with an eastbound tractor-trailer.
Both lanes six miles east of Hancock were closed for several hours following the 12:30 a.m. accident, according to Maryland State Police. Traffic was detoured.
Both vehicles burst into flames, but the semi driver, Delwin Laray Martin, 30, Hagerstown, refused medical treatment.
