Cumberland beats Berkshire, Pa., 7-6; ties 1-1 in second game
POTOMAC PARK - Cumberland rallied for a run in the 11th to tie it and scored again in the 12th to edge Berkshire in a non-league game at Holler Field Saturday.
Berkshire took a 6-5 lead with a run in the top of the 11th. But Cumberland tied it in the bottom of the inning when, after two were out, Brandon House singled, advanced on an error and scored on a single by Mike Hutchinson.
In the 12th, Brandon Benson singled and eventually scored the game-winning run on an infield error.
Josh Alberts had two singles and Hutchinson a single and two RBIs for Cumberland. Hutchinson, the fourth Cumberland pitcher, got the win.
The second game was all Berkshire, as Andy Long had two doubles and two RBIs to lead an 11-hit attack.
Marc Atkins hit two hits for Cumberland.

The Berkshire Red Sox scored five runs in the first inning of the opener, and had two three-run inning late in the second to complete a sweep of the Cumberland Orioles Sunday at Frostburg State University.

Mike Hutchinson and Jeremy Fisher smacked run-scoring singles in a five-run fifth inning, Marc Atkins went the distance and the Cumberland Orioles beat the Tri-State Titans 6-4 to win their third straight Pen-Mar Baseball League championship Sunday afternoon at Holler Field.
