MCHENRY - Spencer Barnard tossed a no-hitter to lead Oakland to a 10-0 win in game two, and Torrey Poholsky also provided a solid showing during a 10-0 victory during the first of a Pen-Mar League doubleheader sweep of Petersburg Sunday afternoon.
Barnard struck out nine and walked two while not allowing a ball out of the infield in his win. Poholsky had 10 strikeouts, no walks and allowed two singles while throwing 63 pitches in his win. Both games were shortened by the 10-run rule with the first lasting five innings, and the second going six.
Corey Bosley finished with five doubles, and had three during the first game. He also scored three times, as did Brian Lenhart. Lenhart had two singles and scored three times. Nick Gregg and Danny Flores had three singles each, with Gregg getting three runs batted in.
The Oaks scored five runs in the first, and added the sixth in the second. The seventh run came during he fifth inning and the final three came in the fifth.
Billy Reams got Oakland going in game two by hitting a two-run home run in the first inning. Bosley added two more doubles and three runs scored, and Flores hit a double, single and scored twice. Matt Miller had a pair of singles, and Jake Freels pitched in with a two-run single.
T.M. Frye recorded six strikeouts in five innings for Petersburg.
Oakland is in first place with a 10-2 record against Pen-Mar West Virginia opponents, and has an overall 16-2 record. It travels to play Clarksburg in a Saturday doubleheader.

McHENRY — Oakland swept a doubleheader on Sunday, a day after sweeping a twinbill on Saturday to defeat the Romney Cycles Orioles four times over the weekend in Pen-Mar League action, with all four games being played at Garrett College.
