Pen-Mar League to meet Feb. 17

CUMBERLAND - The Pen-Mar Baseball League is a wooden-bat league for players of all ages. The league is made up of six teams ranging from Cumberland to Parkersburg, W.Va.: the Cumberland Orioles, Tri-State Titans, Parkersburg, Clarksburg, Oakland and Petersburg.

  • Oakland takes four from Romney Cycles

    McHENRY — Oakland swept a doubleheader on Sunday, a day after sweeping a twinbill on Saturday to defeat the Romney Cycles Orioles four times over the weekend in Pen-Mar League action, with all four games being played at Garrett College.

  • Titans take series A day after pounding 17 hits to take a 1-0 lead over Romney in the Pen-Mar League Semifinals, Tri-State upped the stakes by collecting 21 hits and advanced to the finals by beating Romney 17-4 Sunday at Allegany College of Maryland.

  • Logsdon sparks Tri-State to sweep of Romney Josh Logsdon tossed a four-hit shutout in the opener and went 3-for-4 in the nitecap as the league-leading Tri-State Titans swept Romney, 3-0 and 8-4, in a Pen-Mar League doubleheader Sunday at Allegany College.

  • Orioles drop pair The Berkshire Red Sox scored five runs in the first inning of the opener, and had two three-run inning late in the second to complete a sweep of the Cumberland Orioles Sunday at Frostburg State University.

  • Tri-State sweeps Oakland Tri-State got complete game performances from Brian Powell and Justin Munson to sweep a doubleheader, 10-3 and 5-3, with Oakland Sunday afternoon in Pen-Mar action at Allegany College of Maryland.

  • Oakland splits DH with Orioles Oakland collected a 10-run win in the first game, and Cumberland rebounded for a seven-run victory in the second as the Oaks and Orioles split a Saturday doubleheader at Garrett College on Saturday to remain tied in the Pen-Mar standings.

  • Tri-State scores sweep Buckhannon Brian Powell’s pitching got Tri-State the win in first game, and the Titans used timely hitting in the second to complete a 2-1, 8-3 sweep of Buckhannon in a Pen-Mar League doubleheader Saturday at Allegany College.

  • Baseball Cumberland Repeats Mike Hutchinson and Jeremy Fisher smacked run-scoring singles in a five-run fifth inning, Marc Atkins went the distance and the Cumberland Orioles beat the Tri-State Titans 6-4 to win their third straight Pen-Mar Baseball League championship Sunday afternoon at Holler Field.
