Delaware deer topic of talks
DOVER, Del. (AP) — Public hearings are set in all three Delaware counties on a proposed plan to manage the state’s deer population.
The hearings will be conducted to get public opinion on the Division of Fish and Wildlife’s 90-page plan for managing deer.
Biologist Joe Rogerson, who wrote the report, says part of the state’s challenge is dealing with deer in urban and suburban areas, where hunting is not possible.
Rogerson says problems caused by deer include collisions with motor vehicles.
On the positive side, hunters spent $39 million on hunting-related expenditures in 2006.
The plan and the dates and locations of the hearings are available at http://www.fw.delaware.gov/

Let me in, wheeooh!
You know spring is on the way when a gobbler struts and pecks at his reflection on the windows of your French doors, such as this Tom turkey is doing at Brent and Kathy Nelson’s home on Clement Armstrong Road, Pinto.

Now, now, let’s not be bow snobs
