Late Gary Yoder honored by state

MCCOOLE — The public access area to the North Branch of the Potomac River often referred to as the Carey Dixon property or Black Oak has been renamed by Gov. Martin O’Malley in honor of Gary A. Yoder, a veteran employee of the Maryland Fisheries Service who died in November.

The site is just south of the convenience store Dale’s Pit Stop alongside U.S. Route 220.

Yoder worked for more than 30 years on agency fisheries projects.
