I have never written a letter like this but with all the news about gun control and as a veteran and a man who likes to hunt, I thought I would give my two cents worth.
As with most things, when the government tries to fix they always start in the wrong direction.
They helped to make these problems years ago when they took discipline not only from the schools but made parents afraid to discipline their own kids afraid they would be charged with child abuse.
They also do not have a regard for life, for most of them believe in abortions and most of them do not have any moral values, which was proved when both the president and vice president came out for gay marriages.
I know a lot of people will say this has nothing to do with gun violence, but just stop and think.
Without self-discipline and other forms of discipline in the homes and in our schools, plus moral values, you have nothing.
I repeat the old saying, a gun by itself never killed anybody. I can lay a gun down with it fully loaded and off safety and it would lay there for months until somebody picked it up and pulled the trigger.
As a last thought, take yourself back 40 or 50 years and you did not have these problems, because if you stepped out of line, somebody put you back on track.
