I read with great excitement Elaine Blaisdell’s story about Malcolm and Steve Van Kirk’s proposal for a Aviation Heritage Museum at the airport (“Airport hears plans for aviation museum,” Sept. 30 Times-News, Page 1A).
During my visits to the Cumberland area I am always amazed at learning more about the history of the area, the airport and how much of a role the airport has played in motor sports history. I hope someone sees the opportunity to partner with the Van Kirks and the airport authority to explore a Heritage Motorsports Museum.
