Subject: “North Korea conducts third nuclear missile test,” Page 2A, Feb. 13. This letter is a chastisement of those responsible for the headline of the subject article.
If the headline was provided by the AP, well, shame on them for their complete incompetence. A “missile” was not tested. A small atomic bomb was tested.
The term “nuclear missile” implies that a missile is powered by nuclear energy. There aren’t any of those, yet. The nuclear part could be a warhead, but not the propulsion system.
If the headline was provided by the Times-News, then shame on them for not reading the article before writing the headline.
Dissemination of inaccurate information to the citizenry is of no useful service. It promotes ignorance and fear which are counter productive to liberty and justice.
