The shootings in Connecticut were very tragic. Worse, were those who exploit this tragedy for political gain. It is very apparent that they don’t know what they are talking about.
For example, those who say we can buy “automatic” weapons. We have not been able to buy “automatic weapons” for years! The weapons being discussed are semi-automatic rifles. Period. NOT assault rifles.
The features on the AKs, ARs, MPs that are being characterized as dangerous, are all cosmetic features.
The flash suppressors on the end of the barrel? All they do is keep the gases from coming back in the weapon holder’s face. The hand guard? This is to prevent the weapon holder from touching a hot barrel. The carry handle? Well, this is pretty clear, ease in carrying the weapon.
The pistol grip? That just allows the weapon holder stability. The collapsible stock? This allows people of different stature to fire the same weapon with accuracy.
The people who exploit this tragedy are so uninformed I doubt very seriously if they can name half of the Supreme Court justices, the majority and minority Senate position holders and House speaker and whips.
Our history shows the Founding Fathers who penned the Declaration of Independence, say absolutely nothing about hunting. They DO mention in their writings about responding to tyranny.
These are dangerous times in this country and around the world. Our government has admitted that there are hundreds of terrorist cells in the USA, why would anyone even think of limiting the rights of the citizens to defend themselves?
Legislation that established gun free zones may just be the most inane law to have ever been passed. If you were a terrorist where would you go to hurt Americans the most? The schools, of course. These animals would slaughter little children and think nothing about it.
To note, every state with concealed carry permits have a lower crime rate per capita than those that don’t. A solution would be armed guards in schools, or train and arm teachers on a voluntary basis.
Can you imagine how helpless that teacher in Newtown, Conn., felt when all she could do was put her body in front of her first graders?
The liberal left goes crazy demanding new laws when children are killed with guns but does not seem to have a problem murdering millions of the unborn with a scalpel.
Those of you who use the term automatic weapons, and couldn’t name half of the Supreme Court justices, or any Senate or House leaders, but could name the cast of Jersey Shore, the Kardashians and Honey Boo Boo, and would never miss one episode, I would like you to go straight to your mirror.
What you are looking at is an outrageously uninformed voter. A voter who only thinks of superficial pleasures. Our founding fathers had to think of building our country to greatness, for generations to some, here are a few of their thoughts!
George Washington: A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.
Thomas Jefferson: No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
