For all who grew up watching the Andy Griffith Show, living in Mayberry looked like the ideal place to raise a family.
Crime rarely existed. The sheriff never wore a gun, and people didn’t lock their doors at night.
Where did we go astray? About 50 years ago, society and government decided we shouldn’t teach our children about God. The minority passed laws forbidding prayer in school and government.
We took Jesus out of everything. America turned its back on the Lord. How can it be wrong to teach a child about Jesus, who teaches love?
By taking God and Jesus out of schools, we’ve reaped the whirlwind. Our country is filled with violence and hate. Crime is rampant. Our precious children are subjected to violence at a young age through TV and movies. This sets the stage for young minds.
It’s said we are what we eat, same goes for watching violence on TV and movies. Our young people are conditioned to violence.
Is teaching children “The Ten Commandments” and about our Creator a bad thing?
The tragedies at Sandy Hook Elementary School and the Colorado movie theatre might not have occurred, had our children been taught about God and love, and not subjected to violence on TV and movies.
God’s word says, “suffer little children to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of God.”
Our president and Congress want tougher gun control laws to prevent crime and violence.
The Second Amendment gives us the right to bear arms. Tougher background checks for purchasing guns is a start.
Teach a child about God, and how much God loved us, that He sent His only son to die for us. The longer we turn our backs on God, and allow our children to grow up without knowing, and being taught about Jesus and love, the more violent criminal acts will become.
Barney Fife of the Andy Griffith show said situations should be “nipped in the bud.” Violence and crime can only be curtailed if nipped in the bud.
Proverbs says, “Train us a child in the ways he should go, and when he’s older, he will not depart from it.” Train children’s minds while they’re still in the bud stage.
Children are a gift from God. Allow our country and children to go back to what made this country a desirable to place to live. Put God back in schools and government.
The $1 bill has the inscription, “In God We Trust.” Do we? I think the reason behind eliminating the $1 bill is to remove the word God from our currency.
This country had better living conditions when God was over all. Wake up while we still exist as the USA.
Allow children to be taught about Jesus and the love of God. Can we say as a nation that we’ve prospered since prayer and being taught about God was removed from schools and government?
How can it be wrong to teach children the Ten Commandments? Our government should hang them in every court. They set a standard of righteous living. We live in a fast-paced society, where everything goes, as long as it feels right.
Unless we teach children the Bible and the Ten Commandments, we are heading for more devastating life, so be ready to reap the whirlwind. America is heading over a cliff, if we don’t change directions.
