“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”
Saul Alinsky wrote this in his forward to his autobiographical book Rules for Radicals. Such admiration is written in his own words! What does that say about the justification of the ends?
So who is Saul Alinsky? Hillary Clinton wrote her senior thesis on the guy. He is father of community organizers in Chicago, an idol of William Ayers and kingmaker to Democratic political machine of Illinois. Our leader is schooled in the Alinsky’s arts.
Before men can act,” Alinsky preached, “an issue must be polarized. Men will act when they are convinced their cause is 100 percent on the side of the angels, and that the opposition is 100 percent on the side of the devil.”
According to Alinsky, polarize every issue: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. One of the criteria for picking the target is the target’s vulnerability ... the other important point in the choosing of a target is that it must be a personification, not something general and abstract. The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength. Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” (For example, Sarah Palin)
Central to Alinsky’s politics is creating a chasm between the “haves and the have nots” and setting up the class warfare rhetoric to win every issue. Forget facts, forget reason, class warfare is always the endgame!
It is not an accident that race is injected into every debate on public policy because it is polarizing. It is apparently America’s trump card. Look for it to be injected into the Illegal Alien controversy in Arizona. The federal government will inflame the issue using the Alinsky method to win amnesty for illegal aliens for their votes.
This explains the left’s relentless campaign to sabotage the anti-tax, anti-bailout anti-big government Tea Party movement. So who all is employing the Rules for Radicals? Is it ethical? Of course not, but does it matter to radicals?
“The man of action views the issue of means and ends in pragmatic and strategic terms. He has no other problem, he thinks only of his actual resources and the possibilities of various choices of action. He asks of ends only whether they are achievable and worth the cost, of means, only whether they will work,” Alinsky opines. There’s your answer in his own words.
What is the role of the media? What is your role?

Not in the Bible, but the Communist Manifesto
President Obama has hit a new low. By promoting his reasoning for hiking taxes on the rich at the National Prayer Breakfast, he diminished the seriousness of his proposals and manipulated Jesus’ teachings for his own political purposes. How pathetic.

Argument for same-sex marriage is superficial
I am writing in response to a letter by Ian Stafford entitled, “Equal standards on marriage should be applied to everyone” (Feb. 3 Times-News).
The first thing I noticed about the article is the title. It appeared to be a Gov. O’Malley talking point repeated by his supporter to reframe the issue and promote his radical agenda. -

You’ll have to be rich to breathe Md. air if they begin taxing it
Let me see Marylanders, can you think of any more ways our elected officials can raise taxes in Maryland?First there was the flush tax to save the Chesapeake. Then there was sales tax raised from 5 cents to 6 cents on the dollar. Then we had toll fees at the Bay Bridge go up. Then we had car registration fees increase, along with vehicle tag prices increase.

Spending on non-academic projects causing the problem
Mr. Long’s poignant comments regarding school closings were good (“Is not a school more than just a school?,” Feb. 1 Times-News), however, he missed the sole reason for the closings — that the Garrett county Commissioners and their leader are too committed to adventure sports and relative extravagant non-academic ventures.
