So, if you are saying, Jeffrey Davis of Swanton, that you get offended when Commissioner McKay prays in the name of Jesus (“Concern raised over prayer prior to county meetings,” Aug. 28 Times-News, Page 1A).
If you had any knowledge of Christianity you would know that no one can go to the Father except through Jesus. If you don’t know Jesus, you don’t know the Father. It is written in John 14:6, Jesus said, “I Am the way, the truth, and the life, no on comes to the father except through me Jesus.”
What gives anyone the right to pick and choose what scriptures they believe? The whole Bible is the truth, whether you like it or not. It is written in Revelation 22:19, “and if any man shall take away from the words of this book of the prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life.” (So much for wording it yourself. Amen)
The Trinity of Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit are one, so why would you disrespect one member of the Trinity? They all are equal in respect. So I stand up for Commissioner McKay, and I stand up for our Precious Lord and Savior who is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, who is and was and is yet to come, He’s the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He calls us His friend.
The Father gives Jesus authority over all things. It is written in Matthew 28:18, “than Jesus came to them and said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”
So if all authority has been given to Jesus as God’s word says, who cannot lie, then why would you not use Jesus’ name in prayer?
He is the only mediator you can go to the Father in your prayers. Because He walked this earth in perfection. He didn’t except temptation when he walked this earth 2000 years ago and laid His life down for you and me.
We surely can’t come to God in our name, we all fall short of the glory of God. If I come to the Father in my name, the prayers wouldn’t get any higher than the ceiling of my house. Righteousness and justice is the foundation of His throne.
So if you are one of these people who want to take Jesus out of everything, think about this, it is written your life is a short mist, so you will stand before Jesus one day and answer to trying to take him out of prayer. He judges and discerns our thought and intents of the heart, without even hearing your voice yet.
If you don’t get with the program and accept Him in your heart, than you will get to answer to trying to stop His name from being spoken.
I pray that this letter the Holy Spirit has guided me to write will touch the people’s hearts and to warn them to never go against the one who oversees all things, Jesus our Lord. Trust me, you don’t want to live in a world without God in it, just look at Sodom and Gomorrah.

Town of Westernport needs a police force and a curfew
Since the consolidation of Bruce and Valley high schools the town of Westernport rapidly deteriorated from what was once a quite respectable community to a community in a decline in residents, and along with that came a collapse in local government due to lack of knowledge and bad decisions that set the town of Westernport back 60 years.
One bad decision was to give up their police force, and with no constant visual law enforcement it has created an open range for drug dealerss, addicts, thieves, drunks and speeding vehicles that choose to ignore our city laws and speed limits and have totally disregard for the safety of the citizens who are on the streets, especially the children who are like deer, you don’t see them until their in front of you. -
Financial gutting will damage school system
