Obituary Policy and information
The following obituary policy will be followed by the Cumberland Times-News. The Times-News' comprehensive listings of deaths include two types of notices:
• A free notice is offered that lists any visitation and service arrangements only.
• The other type, a paid obituary, is a more lengthy notice, which includes a life history of the person and other information at the presenter's request. A photo may be submitted along with a paid obituary for an additional fee. Obituary information and photos may be e-mailed to obits@times-news.com.
Obituaries, photos (.jpg) and notices are be emailed to obits@times-news.com
One time run cost is $10.60 per printed column inch; $30 photo; $5.30 Veterans flag.
All obituaries must be pre-paid prior to publication (Visa/MC/Discover/AmEx)
Deadline for next day’s publication is 7:45 p.m.
Questions call (301)784-2534 from 4:30-8:00 p.m.
A free funeral notice is also offered that will appear only on the day of the funeral. Notices are submitted through a funeral director.
