CUMBERLAND — Doris Jean Carson, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Carson was the daughter of the late Theodore Milton Schade and Mary Frances (Smith) Schade. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick H. Carson, June 29, 1994.
A homemaker, Doris was a member of Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church and the Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah K. McGee and her husband, Terry, Cumberland; her son, James K. Carson, Westminster; and her brothers, William T. Schade and his wife, Cassie, Huntsville, Ala. and Ron Schade and his wife, Gemma, Oldtown. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren, Beth Nelson and her husband, Eric, Crofton, Connie LePrevost and her husband, Jack, Ellerslie, Kimberli Ramsey and her significant other, Kelly Hayse, Christiansburg, Va. and Cory McGee and his girl friend, Tracey Miller, Grantsville; her great grandchildren, Brittany Kidd, Justus Porto, David Nelson, and Michael Nelson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 from 11 a.m. to noon.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at noon with the Rev. Stephen Yelovich officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
The family requests that memorials be made to Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
