GORMANIA, W.Va. — George Edward Kitzmiller, 68, of Gormania, W.Va., died on Friday, March 1, 2013, at his home.
Born on Aug. 6, 1944, in Mount Storm, W.Va., he was the son on the late Orville H. and Audra V. (Hanlin) Kitzmiller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Kitzmiller.
Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and gardening and was known as the “camp cook.”
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Streets) Kitzmiller; a daughter, Georgina Burrell, of Keyser, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Joshua Ellixson, Zacherie Kitzmiller and Ayden Burrell, all of Keyser; a great-grandchild, Nova Ellixson, of Warner Robins, Ga.; three sisters, Dolores Kuhn, of Mount Storm, W.Va., Dianna Knotts and husband Peter Jr., of Clarksville, Tenn. and Regina Funk, of Oakland; a brother, William Kitzmiller and wife Dorothy, of Bayard, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 4, at 11 a.m. in the House of Prayer Church, Hartmansville, W.Va., with the Rev. Leslie A. Hipp officiating.
Interment will follow in the Kitzmiller Family Cemetery, Mount Storm.
