BUFFALO MILLS, Pa. — Harry Richard “Rick” Adams died at his home in Buffalo Mills, Feb. 22, 2013 after many years on dialysis.
He was born Jan. 2, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard A. Adams and Eleanor Jane Adams Raupach.
He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Mills and her husband Justin, Everett, Pa. and Ashleigh Haggerty and husband Eric, North Carolina; grandchildren, Rebekah, Elijah and Rachel Mills and Lexie and Emma Haggerty; his sisters, Jennifer Kennell, Kim Mills and brother, Timothy Adams all of Cumberland.
Mr. Adams was a graduate of Allegany High School. He was formerly employed at National Jet, Memorial Hospital and Exxon Service in Everett. He was recognized by Exxon for his bravery during an armed robbery. Rick disarmed the thief and held him until the police arrived.
As did his mother, Rick donated his body to science to further the education of the medical students at University of Pittsburgh.
A private memorial service is planned.
