CUMBERLAND — Delores Margaret (Winter) Shipe, 81, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born March 18, 1931, in Cresaptown, Mrs. Shipe was the daughter of the late Wressel O. Winter and Mary C. (Grabenstein) Winter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edgar Shipe; and her brothers and sisters, Ed Winter, Edna Rice, Joseph Winter, Elmer Winter, Kate Chaney, Ruth Niner, Tom Winter, and Dorothy Winter.
A homemaker, devoted mother, and grandmother, Delores was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was involved with the seniors groups there.
She is survived by her son, Stephen M. Shipe and wife, Sharon, Evans, Ga.; and her daughters, Ometa E. Snyder and husband, Brian, Stephens City, Va. and Donna M. Forbeck and husband, Randall, Cumberland. Delores is also survived by her brothers, Harold Winter and wife, Mary, Monaca, Pa., Louis Winter, Arthur Winter and wife, Viola, all of Cresaptown; and her grandchildren, Jessica Hartman and husband, Jason, San Diego, Calif., Justin Snyder, Cumberland, Jocelyn Kalbaugh and husband, Ryan, Cumberland, Melanie McCormick and husband, Sergeant Matthew Clint, Waynesville, Mo., Erica Dunty and husband, Neil, Hampstead, Matthew Forbeck, Cumberland, Nathan Shipe and wife, Shawna, Frostburg, Jordan Shipe and Lindsay Shipe, both of Evans, Ga.; as well as her great-grandchildren, Emma Hartman, Micah Hartman, Alexa Dunty, Ethan Dunty, Isaac Dunty, Elliana Snyder, Madison McCormick, Wyatt McCormick, and Evan Shipe.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior the service.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
