KEYSER, W.Va. — Elva Kathleen “Kay” Arnold, 87, of New Creek Drive, Keyser, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born on Sept. 2, 1925 in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Guy Russell and Bessie (See) Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harlton W. “Bill” Arnold; and a granddaughter, April Lynn Arnold.
Kay was a homemaker. She was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she was a student and teacher of Bible Studies, a member of Council of Ministries, Prayer Chain Warriors, Memorial Sunday School Class, and United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her son, William Arnold and wife Eloise of Dayton, Ohio; her daughter, Shirley (Arnold) Arnold and husband David of Shallotte, N.C.; her grandchildren, Dawn Crowder, Dair Arnold and Sarah Arnold; her great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Ava Crowder, Hannah and Emma Grupe; and her pet cat, Noel.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, 233 S. Mineral St., Keyser, on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Judi Stump officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
