FROSTBURG — William Lee Britton, 67, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born July 19, 1945 in Washington D.C., to Jeanette Britton and the late Maurice Britton.
William was a graduate from Bladensburg High School in Bladensburg. He retired after 30 years of service with Bell Atlantic of Maryland. After retirement, he enjoyed his membership in the Community Model Train Club of Frostburg.
In addition to his mother, Jeanette Britton of Silver Spring, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Felker) Britton; daughter, Kimberly Miller and husband Edgar, Frostburg; son, Kevin Britton, Frostburg; sister, Kathryn Britton, Takoma Park; brother, Jerry Britton, Altamonte, Fla.; grandchildren, Bryce Miller and Hailey Miller, whom he loved with all his heart. He also leaves behind Sammy, beloved family pet.
As per his wishes, William will be cremated and inurned, with no visitations or services.
The family would like to thank everyone in Hospice of Garrett County, the doctors of Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Zaman of the Schwab Family Cancer Center and all the nurses, whom we call angels, for the excellent care he received during his lengthy illness. Special thanks also to a special cousin, Colleen Matthews and husband Mike, Frostburg.
