LAVALE — Mary Ann Airesman, 88, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2013 at the Perring Parkway Center in Baltimore.
Mrs. Airesman was born Mary Ann Dressman on Oct. 23, 1924 in LaVale. She was the oldest of three children born to John Francis Dressman and Frances Maffley Dressman of LaVale.
Mrs. Airesman graduated from Saints Peter & Paul Ursuline Academy, Cumberland, in 1942. In 1945, she graduated from The Allegany Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse until her marriage to Charles D. Airesman in 1953. They had three children.
Mrs. Airesman was a housewife and caregiver. Her Catholic upbringing guided her as she raised her family.
She was a talented artist who loved painting and playing her piano. She also enjoyed crafts, like crocheting and sewing. Her legacy to her family was her caring and gentle nature and the wonderful art she left behind.
Mrs. Airesman is survived by her daughter, Paula Airesman, Perry Hall; her son, Charles D. Airesman Jr. wife Dee, and their children, Nicole and Ryan, LaVale; and, her brother, Fred Dressman, LaVale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles D. Airesman; her son, Mark Airesman; and her sister, Sr. Jeanne Dressman.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Ladies of the Mountain Parish, St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Somerset, Pa., on Monday at 2 p.m.
