CUMBERLAND — Dorothy Louise Nies, 83, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at her home.
Born Oct. 1, 1929, in Cumberland, Mrs. Nies was the daughter of the late Louis Howard Nies and Bernice Virginia (Lang) Nies. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Mae Brooks.
Dorothy was a retired register nurse from Memorial Hospital and a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her brother, Louis “Buzzy” Nies and wife Susanne, of Cumberland; her niece, Yvonne “Bonnie” Louise Rose-Norris, of Cumberland and her nephew, John Wilson Rose.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m.
A memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
