FINKSBURG — Merriam Agnes Markland, 90, of Finksburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, of respiratory failure, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 2, 1922, in Washington, D.C. and was the wife of Jack Markland, her husband of 67 years, who died Nov. 14, 2009. She was also predeceased by a brother, Edwin DeNeane and sons-in-law Bill Parker and Jack Saulpaw.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and was a member and Past Grand Region of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving are daughters Merriam F. Shackett and companion Dave Foster, of Pennsylvania, Christina Parker, of Finksburg, Clarice Weimer and husband Tom, of Grantsville and Adele Stokes and husband Vic, of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster.
Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
