CRESAPTOWN — Judith Ann Aldridge, 74, of Cresaptown, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born March 12, 1938 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Louise Irene (Twigg) Bond.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, where she worked in many aspects of her church functions. She also belonged to the Mountainside Marine Detachment 1071 Auxiliary.
Judy was a Cancer and Heart charities volunteer. For many years, Judy assisted with Meals On Wheels, having worked in two different programs.
She especially enjoyed her Ridgeley High School classmates and their activities, as well as lunches with her bowling friends.
She was an avid fan of University of Maryland basketball and football and the Dallas Cowboys. Judy enjoyed NASCAR having run “hot laps” at both Talladega and Atlanta with Richard Petty Racing.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, John S. “Jack” Aldridge Sr.; her son, John S. Aldridge Jr. and wife Barbara; her daughter, Tammy Aldridge Seeley and husband Rod; and her pride and joy, granddaughters, Sarah, Rachel, and Adison. She is also survived by a sister, Jacqueline Bond Lloyd and husband Ronald; a sister-in-law, Carol Aldridge and husband Jim Newman; and several nieces and nephews.
Judy had many friends, but the family would like to thank these ladies who were special to her, Nellie, Tess, Wanda, Karin, Carol and Margaret — they were always there for her.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
Condolences to the family may be posted after Mrs. Aldridge’s obituary at www.upchurchfh.com.
