CUMBERLAND — Wanda Ann Swanner, 63, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1949 in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul Vincent Carder and Virginia Lee (Smith) Carder.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Jo.
Mrs. Swanner was a homemaker, who loved her family dearly.
She belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Cumberland.
Survivors include her husband, William M. Swanner, Jr.; three daughters, Virginia Lee Roby, Hopewell, Pa., Ronda K. Wolford, and husband Darrin, Fort Ashby, and Kimberly Ann Carnley, and husband Mark, Jasper, Ala.; three brothers, “Bunk,” Bobby, and Richie Carder, all of Green Spring, W.Va.; five sisters, Jo Emswiller, Green Spring, Betty Iser, Fort Ashby, Carolyn Grigg, Green Spring, Linda Fox, Rawlings, and Benny Cadwalder, Green Spring; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Derek, David, Eddie, Patricia, Ashley, Jonathan, and Katelyn; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paedyn.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m., with Pastor Scott Shaffer officiating.
As per her wishes, Mrs. Swanner will be cremated after the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 800 Hill Top Dr., Cumberland, MD 21502.
