FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Sheila Day Scholze, formerly of Cumberland, and residing in Fort Pierce, passed from this life on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce.
Born Oct. 7, 1948, in Cumberland, Sheila was the daughter of the late Jack K. Day and Naomi E. Day.
She was the proud mother of the late Adam Michael Dickson and Aaron Matthew Dickson and wife, Julie E. Dickson, Fort Pierce; and her grandchildren, Morgan Dickson, Hunter Dickson, Cody Watkins, and Zoe Watkins. Also, she leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Heather Bray and Heather King, mothers of Morgan and Hunter, respectively.
Sheila resided in Cumberland, a 1966 graduate of Allegany High School, who furthered her education with a degree from North Carolina State University. She married Robert “Doc” Scholze in October 1996, bringing a second family of Robert E. Scholze III and Heather Ann Browder and husband, Martin, and step-grandchildren, Colin and Westin, Manikin Sabot, Va.
Thanks to Bobby, her zest for sports and travel found her in some of the most exotic places on Earth. She shared with her husband some the most memorable times of her life, making new friends all over the world and keeping some of the most important friendships, most notably her life-long best friend, Cindy Walvick, Fort Pierce. Sheila was passionate about everything and everyone who touched her heart and she gave her all to those who needed it.
She was a wonderful woman, mother, and friend and shall be sorely missed by those who knew her. May she rest in peace and continue her journey.
She was truly a woman worth knowing.
A memorial service for both, Bobby and Sheila Scholze, will be conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
