CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Gustava Anne Drumm, 87, formerly of LaVale, and residing in Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
She was a devoted Christian and much loved mother, grandmommy, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born March 19, 1925, in Citronelle, Ala., Mrs. Drumm was the daughter of the late Gustavaus Meyer and Emma Ethelean (Riedemann) Meyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth James Drumm, on Nov. 21, 2003; and a daughter, Ellen Marie Drumm.
A member of the Church of Saint Patrick, Anne retired from the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources as the Regional Office Manager with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Upper Potomac Gardening Club and the LaVale Lionettes.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Hassid, of New York City, N.Y.; her sons, Donald K. Drumm and wife Jane, of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and David J. Drumm, of Cleveland, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Galia Galansky, of New York City, N.Y., Benjamin Hassid, of New York City, N.Y., Jennifer Hamilton and husband Michael, of Birmingham, Ala., Laura Edrington and husband Doug, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jefferson Drumm and wife Terina, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Jonathan Drumm and wife Kendell, of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and Scott Drumm, of Cleveland, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, Saint Patrick Catholic Church Site, on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be held at Saint Peter and Saint Paul's Cemetery with her husband.
The family suggests that memorials be made in her name to the LaVale Rescue Squad, 977 National Highway, LaVale, MD 21502 or the LaVale Lions Club, Post Office Box 3235, LaVale, MD 21504-3235.
