MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK — Geraldine Rose Simpson, 69, of Mountain Lake Park, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Sept. 8, 1943, in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Sloan and Gladys (Wilson) Shockey. Her husband, John D. Simpson, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
She leaves behind a son, John D. Simpson Jr., of Georgia; four daughters, Lisa Morgan, of Orlando, Fla., Audra G. Burrell, of Piedmont, W.Va., Angelia Ashley and husband Richard, of Wichita Falls, Texas and Elizabeth Ribbey, of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Kenneth W. Shockey and wife Lois, of Swanton and a sister, Linda L. Kasmier, of Mountain Lake Park. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua Ellixson, Courtney Aronhalt, Chelsea Morgan, Zacherie Carr, Brodey Morgan, Ayden Burrell, and Josiah Ashley and a great-granddaughter, Nova Ellixson.
As per Mrs. Simpson’s wishes, her body was cremated.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Arthur Davis officiating.
