CUMBERLAND — Leona May Rice, 82, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Devlin Manor Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 3, 1930, in Cumberland, Mrs. Rice was the daughter of the late James Andrew Michael and Vallie Loretta (Rankin) Michael.
Leona retired from the Allegany County Board of Education and was a member of the Melvin United Methodist Church.
Leona is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glenn T. Rice; her sons, David E. Rice and wife, Georganna, Whitehall, Mich., Thomas L. Rice and wife, Diane, Williamsport; and her daughter, Glenda M. Iliff and husband, Richard, Cumberland. She is also survived by her brothers Gerald Michael and wife, Lola and Glendon Michael and wife, Shirley, all of Cumberland; as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Denny Michael officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
