FROSTBURG — Mary Bernice Wilson, 98, of Frostburg, formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland.
Born Dec. 19, 1913 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Perry Jefferson Shipley and Mary Selena (Scott) Shipley.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wilson; and three sisters, Glennie Gertrude Shelton, Ruth Elizabeth Sedlack and Florence Lillian Barkley.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Fort Hill High School and Catherman’s Business School.
She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Cumberland. More recently, Bernie belonged to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Her volunteer service in-cluding being a Gray Lady at Memorial Hospital, assisting at the Maryland Eye Bank., and being an A.B.L. Hostess. In addition, Bernice belonged to Cumberland Chapter 56, O.E.S., the Ladies of the Shrine, and the Ladies of the Elks in Cumberland.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Wilson Riley, and husband I. Dean Riley, Terra Alta, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Leissa Riley Crum, and husband Randy Crum, Williamsport, Amy Christine Scriever, and husband David Scriever, Williamsport, and Bruce Wilson Riley, Seattle, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Lauryn, Connor, Dalton, Wyatt, Nicolas, Bradyn, and Sawyer; two great-grandchildren, Jaliya and K.J.; several special nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Lena Fratz.
There will be a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland, on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 2 p.m., the Rev. Donald R. Thomas will officiate.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Dennett Road Manor nurses and aides who provided Bernice with such kind, compassionate care.
