GREEN SPRING, W.Va. — Darlene Caroll Dawson, 66, of Green Spring and formerly of Keyser, W.Va., died on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born on April 10, 1946, in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Fred C. Sisler Jr. and Ruth M. (Courtney) Sisler. She was also preceded in death by a great-niece, Raelyn Horner and brother-in-law, Leon E. McBride.
Mrs. Dawson was a 1964 graduate of Keyser High School, worked for S. Schwab Company for 15 years as a plant/shift supervisor and went on to managing 7-11 Stores in Manteo, N.C. She retired as a manager of Trade Oil Company and moved back to Green Spring to spend her remaining years with the loves of her life, her grandchildren, to whom she dedicated and devoted all of her love and time.
Surviving are her son, Jeffery Lawrence Dawson, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her daughter, Diana Lynn Thomas and Walter Fields, of Green Spring; her granddaughters, Mallarie Thomas, Gracie Lynn Fields and Janelle Fields; her grandsons, Trevor James Warner and Jenson W. H. Fields; her brother, Harlan D. “Buzz” Sisler and wife Susan, of Meherrin, Va. and her sister, Sandi McBride, of Keyser. She is also survived by nieces, Denyce Harman and Barry Brant, of Oakland, Conni Horner and husband Bobby, of Keyser, Ruda Parks and husband Danny, of Keyser and Candi Spaid and husband Chris, of Romney; great-nieces, Amber Brant, Alea Horner and Emilee Spaid; great-nephews, Nicholas Brant, Beau Horner, Ezra Parks, Edan Parks and Dylan Spaid and great-great-nephew, Colten Brant.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Eisenhour officiating.
