CUMBERLAND — Wilma C. Woolard, 91, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 24, 1921, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Walter Wade Cook and Cecelia Elizabeth (Monahan) Cook Ackerson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Woolard Jr.; one sister, Mary Lenore Jackson; two brothers, Raymond Ackerson and Richard Ackerson and one grandson, Eric Michael Woolard.
Wilma was a life long member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cumberland, where she married the love of her life in 1941.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph E. Woolard III, of Lake Wales, Fla., Timothy Woolard and wife Leslie, of Fort Ashby, W.Va. and Michael W. Woolard and wife Vi, of Cumberland; two brothers, Walter Wade Cook, of Ohio and John E. Ackerson, of Cumberland; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (www.scarpellifh.com) on Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be all grandsons Richard Karge, Jason Woolard, Jonathan Woolard, Matthew Woolard, Daniel Wool-ard and Richard Woolard.
We would like to give special thanks to the Lions Center staff for their special care Mom received for the past nine years of her life.
